Default F lens / G Lens



I had heard people saying F lens and G lens . what are they mean ? how to differentiate it in the lens ?

Is AF 70-300mm f/4~f/5.6 G a gd lens

no F lens but F mount lenses, just describes the mount for nikkor lens produced post 1959

G lens are lens without the aperture ring, so you can only use these G lens on newer electronic cameras and not the older ones eg FM, FA, FE...
