Wow, I love #2. Absolutely gorgeous, to me. Not sure if it works for others. Don't you wish all the silly palm trees around that building were chopped down? =D
But in any case, I would have cropped it tighter, to exclude the other buildings. At least on the right side. |

Hi there,
Thanks for sharing your work. For #1, To get rid of flare, there are a few ways, one of which include it Photoshop away. However, the best way is to shoot in the direction that is not directly at the on-coming light source, try to change the angle of shoot. Alternative is to remove the filter, that might help too. A wider angle for this shot will be better. For #2, very good work, love the cloud trails. I find this shot rather interesting, care to share your work flow on how you capture this shot. My only negative point is the over-blown street lights, but overall, very good shot. For #3, a bit hard to comment. Some how the bougavilla at the Foreground is not working well with the background. You can try to either change the angle of shoot or use a wider angle to help to improve this shot. Great work. Keep it up. Do share more.

Hi, thanks for the kind words anyways;
For #1 Does photoshop got automatic way of removing flares or must use clone/stamp tool?. For #2 Same sentiments here as might86mare about the trees wish it wasn't there. To Francis this is a long exposure shot 25-30 sec Original image was a bit overexposed because I used spot metering on the tower which is a bit dark at that time. No cropping done just resize, I think wider lens will work better on this shot for composition. Levels and noise correction done on photoshop. For #3 Nothing special about this shot just wanted to know how to make the sky appear more saturated and colorful. Is it okay to use polariser @night. |

For #1, it is really up to your Photoshop skill. For #2, thanks for sharing the information. Good shot. For #3, not really advisable to use polarizer. For a more saturated evening sky, wait for dusk. Cheerz.

As commented #2 is good esp the clouds. good possibility there for more pictures using this feature.
I do not know what are you trying to say with #3? Care to reveal your intention? |

#1 - I use a card or board over the hood or lens. This works pretty well day or night but take care not to capture the board in your pics.
#2 - Nice shots but I think the white balance a bit off. I would normally customised white balance before shot. #3 - What are you trying to capture? If it the sky then make sure your white balance is set properly in the first place. Another thing is the picture is a bit flat. You could potentially improve this in PS. The other way is to take 3 different exposures and create a HDRI but you need a tripod to do so. Some example of HDRI can be found in my website. Overall not too bad... ![]()

you dont have to buy "flare buster", can diy.
1) find a unwanted / discarded black color plastic file and cut it into the shape of a bounce card (T- shape). the size as big as you are comfortable with. 2) on 1 side, make a pocket by taping a clear plastic (from a unwanted / discarded file) to the black card and insert white paper / plastic sheet. you have a bounce card. if want warm, use yellow color. 3) on the other side as a black card. good to use when shooting fireworks or burning during long exposure (much like grad. ND filter). just use it to cut in and out to half that you want to reduce the brightness. can also hold it over the lens to block out flare for short exposure. you can also make a small one and attach it to a black thin and twisted (give it strength) wire. this way can do spot burning as with the street lamp in photo #2. 4) attach a strong and small paper clip to a strong wire that can hold the shape when bent, eg cloth hanger (it has good length when fully straighten). when you have flare problem during long exposure. secure the loose end of the wire to the tripod, attache the black card to the clip and bend the wire such the the card blocks the flare but does not show in the frame. hope this helps.
