Anyone else using Tamron 17-35 f2.8- f4 ? I noticed in this picture there's a red glowing patch esp. when i increase the Red channel saturation. Lens hood is on too. Could it be the sun direction coming from the side?

Some lenses are just more prone to hotspots than others, there's not much you can do except to open up the aperture more to reduce the problem.
Hoods prevent flaring, not hotspots...a hotspot is not a flare _ |

For unmod cams, try to shoot wide open, or don't go beyond f5.6. I used to use EF-S 18-55 which had very bad hotspot, but less obvious when wide open.
