Anybody got this problem with using the M/A manual focus override for some time and the lens refuse to AF after that? Got to send back to nikon for servicing.
I heard from some people that the M/A function of these lens tend to wear off after a while if you use the manual focus. |

optimally 45-50%.. But for such lens that extend alot during usage, i presume that they have quite poor weather sealing. The 18-200 sigma and tamron i had seems this way as well. Probably taking out to use at least once a week will be good. |

Hmmm.. I used to have the AF-S go dead also but somehow it came back alive after a while of working out, ie half press, release, half press, release...... RH of 46% should be ok, mine fluctuates between 45% and 50% depending on weather conditions. So far my lens is still ok.

I send in mine 2 weeks ago. AF-S 18-200 VR M/A AF Faulty also. Mine is still under warranty.
Nikon Service Centre informed me that the spare parts for the replacement will only arrive at the end of the month and they need 1/2 weeks after that to service it.... ![]() |
