Anyone using DK-21m on D40? Does it gives a bigger and better view? Does it fit on D40? and where to get it?
Thanks in advance |

do you really need a magnifier for d40? it's viewfinder is already bright and bigger than d50/d70. dk-21m will fit d40, it will look silly tho. it magnifies but corners slightly less accessible. especially if you are a glasses-wearer. if you just want to replace the original eyecup, get dk-20. fits well, looks good. there are many shops selling dk-21m. they will allow you to try.. |

f/0.75.
That aside, I think since the magnification of the D40 viewfinder isn't much higher than the D50/D70/D70s, I think the DK21m is indeed helpful, especially when there are no focusing aids on the focusing screen like microprism and split-image like in the olden days. Probably they shouldn't call it focusing screen anymore.. Maybe composition screen? ![]() Last edited by lsisaxon; 15th March 2007 at 09:53 AM. |

I really miss the old days of HUGE VFs on film SLRs when you could MF so easily. Everything was so bright and clear.

I mean in low light suitation and very small object. For now I have to depend on the focus light to tell me if i have lock on the correct point and to do that i have to shift my eyes abit lower to see that focus light light up then move my eyes back to compose the shot. By the way wats a AF light screen? Google it but no result
