Default Go to PDA store

you can get one Protective cover easily at any PDA store at sim lim.
cost ard $5-10 for a 8cmx5cm sheet where you can cut it into 4 pieces for your A40.

Normally, there is another layer of glass protecting the LCD screen, if your A40 has that layer... you can still use brasso to polish a little bit to get rid of the scratch. Trust me, its work. BUT if there ain't a glass layer then I DO NOT advise you to do the abovementioned.

But still a protector would prevent further scratch or damage to the LCD screen. Of course, that is really up to you.

Default Glass panel?

What do you mean?

Or can i ask, if i apply a pressure on the lcd, if the image get distorted, then it has no glass panel over it..

And if there's no effect when pressure is applied, then that means there is a glass panel over it.

Am i right to say tat?

Hi feimeow.

Thanks for your recommendation of where to get PDA protector.

My suggestion is don't do any more polishing or things like that o your scratches, just do some simple cleaning and put a PDA protector. Anyway some scratch won't affect your photo result right? If you persist with the problem, then maybe you will make things worse, such as can't even see the setting properly, then you really have to spend that S$100 for LCD replacement. Agree?

Default IXUS V2 LCD also fade

I also had the same experience for the IXUS V2 LCD screen. Not sure if its the same as the A40. I had it for a week, and always put it in my jeans pocket. Than the coating faded at the center.

Had to return to Canon, and they replaced it as a goodwill since I had it for a week only. Anyway, got it back after 1.5 weeks. It cost $70 to replace if it was not under warranty. Good thing that it was.

I purchased from a internet company for the LCD screen protector. Its a local one, and it cost $12.5 for 6 pcs. Website is http://www.purplemoo.com/.

Well, they did repair mine FOC cause I had it for only a week. They just caution me to be more careful next time.

Anyway, I have since put the lcd protector on, and still putting it in my pocket....thats the reason why I bought the IXUS anyway.

Greetings,

Guess there are many types of lcd protector around.
There is one thread in consumer where ppl is buying "Da protector" -- they say its a thick semi-permanent sticking on the lcd screen.

How does purple moo works? l@@ks like? any comments?

The latest Digital Video batt for canon sell at $40 after my "ah-beng" style bargain with a shop in Far East.
Anyone can check out the price in SLS.

The purple moo is also a plastic sheet. Its not so sticky such that it leaves stains on the LCD. Also, the small air bubbles will disappear after some time after initial application.

You pay by credit card, and they will deliver to your home.
