    Good one liners...

Persian Officer: "Spartans, lay down your weapons."

Spartan King Leonidas: "Come and get them!"

    GREAT VISUAL FEAST!

wow! i love the post processing of the films! makes me wanna do more cross-processed slides shots!!

HUAT AH!! got hokkien version more fun!!

love the part where the sissy's general's head was cut by their own executioner whose arms are modified into something like a chainsaw.

whole theater burst out in laughter at the way the head was spinning in mid-air, slow-mo somemore!

Havent watched the movie but some notes.

    FACTs.
    1. Spartans do wear armor in war NOT as in the movie.

    2. Supposedly 2 spartans survived,1 to tell the story, another as an assassin who made it as far as the court but was killed.

    3. 300 spartans but they're not alone.abt 7000 allies vs abt 300,000 persians. Figures debatable.

4.In the final stand, there were also abt 700 Thespians who stayed and fought along side the Spartans; who were so impressed they were said to exchange cloaks and vows of brotherhood. But for this, Thespiae was burned to the ground after this war.

I'm damn impressed with these Thespians caused they're citizen soldiers, not born and breed warriors like the Spartans. The commander was an architect!

5.Their shields should have been wood with bronze veneers and swords nothing like those in the movie.

6.Leonidas and his Spartans were attempting to hold the Thermopylae pass by land in conjunction with the allied Greek fleet led by Athens just up the coast. However, only about 30 Greek cities out of 700 or so who might have joined were in the resistance; Far more Greeks fought on the Persian side than on Sparta's side.

    7. Xerxes is fully bearded and ancient Persian never even cut their hair as they thought it sacred.

Well, the movie is a narrative spoken by one of the surviving Spartans, Dilios, to the united Greek army to inspire them into battle. Hence, you can say that the stylised action and exaggerated enemies were all to spice up the story...

    It was a fun ride....

The first movie to cross the US$100M mark at the box office. After the first weekend, it already grossed US$70M, & at the No.1 spot... it raked in more than the No.2 to No.10 movies combined !

whether the movie twisted some facts or exaggerated them, this movie is still a pleasure to watch. great visual feast and great soundtrack to boot too. the rock music really makes the fight sequence more interesting.

will definitely get the DVD when it's out.

Persian guy: "Our arrows will block out the sun."

Spartan guy: "Then we will fight in the shade."

    how cooler can that be?

These words were supposedly really spoken, not just a script.
Same for 'Come and Get them.."
