Hi guys,
What does the red light means when it lights up on the battery pack? I was using it past few days and so far i only encounter 2 types. 1. it blink twice after the flash went off. 2. It stood lighted up PERMANENTLY for about 15s after flash went off. I supposed it meant it is charging up the flash. Another scenario i encountered is after i fired off the flash, the red light on the battery pack lights up for the next 15s or so. I then press the red "flash" button again without waiting for the red light on the flash head to light up and it managed to fire off. How is that so? Does it means that it actually now take power from the 5pc of batteries in the flash head? Tried to search on it but to no avail... Pls advise.... Cheers... ![]() |

This is what the SD8A instructions say about how the ready light works:
The SD-8A's ready-light comes on after firing while charging the SD-8A and goes out when completed. It goes out in a short time when using fresh batteries or firing was made at lower output, and stays lit for a long time when using exhausted batteries or firing was made at higher output. The SD-8A's ready light may light up when the SD-8A's sync cord is hooked up to the Speedlight. This is not a problem. When another sync cord is plugged into the Speedlight's or camera's sync terminal after connecting the SD-8A to the Speedlight, the SD-8A's ready-light may also light up. This is not a problem. Hope this helps. |

There isn't much more in the manual apart from that. The rest is telling you what type of batteries you can use and the performance of the batteries wrt to recycle times. |
