Would like to know how is the performance of this lens, especially in the "real world". Does anyone own a copy? Or have tried it?
Couldn't find many reviews except for this one: http://www.ephotozine.com/equipment/...fm?test_id=479 |

Hi bro, just got my copy two weeks ago.
Using it as a walkaround len. The HSM really impress me. Its quiet and fast response. As for CA,boteh and sharpness, I think it wont disppoint you. Weight wise, it is only 0.77kg. Anything less than a kg to me is acceptable. Price wise, very subjective. SO far, not much for a complain for a hobbist like me. Hope you get your dream gem soon and happy shooting. |

Thanks all for your comments.
I'm considering this lens mainly because of it's weight (or rather lack of weight ). The "usual" 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses all weigh a lot more than 1kg. My arm simply can't take it .Shocky: actually there is an advantage of overlapping focal lengths - there is less need to change lenses. So, I don't mind some overlapping. |
