Default SBs or Metz?

For events such as weddings and such, would it be better to go with more powerful flashes like metz, or just stick with SB600/800? My main concern would be the accuracy of exposure, as i'm not sure 3rd party flash are that compatible or not. Weight is not that much of a concern.

I believe the SB600 or SB800 will provide more than enough flash power for most events, even weddings, and IMHO original products are less likely to face compatibility issues than third party ones, and in terms of flash expsosure, original products probably have a slight advantage.

If you're talking about WB accuracy, you can't go wrong with Nikons. Esp the SB-800.

But Metz users love the warmer tone the flash gives them. Thus the choice. It all depends on you too, how do you like your pictures? Cooler (more natural) or warmer ??

For important event only use nikon else 3rd party. You sometime might face the compatible issue as the flash did not trigger until you reset the flash or cam.

I always have spare flash or cam with.

Consistent WB output is more important, I not sure of accuracy of exposure.

YMMV

Most importantly is the back-up servicing. Nikon should be no problem. But, for Metz....

Is it? I have been using 3rd party flash for many yrs, but did not face the above problem leh.

You seems to be an expert, maybe you can share with us the difference of a metz flash and a nikon flash? Why wedding photographers prefer metz over the original Nikon?

Oooo... exposure not impt. Hmmm, technically the photos not right leh. Whereas WB can be easily corrected, either by s/w or filter. But exposure wrong, will reflects on the skills of a photographer.

Did I mention any of the product above lousy???

The only thing in my reply earlier that I see is lousy is 'not getting the right exposure in pictures.'
