Tried doing some sunrise shots in Changi.
Most of the shots came out really dark .... esp when the sun just breaks the horizon.
Ya think the polariser need not be used at these early times?
Also, what is the safest mode to take these pics in, AP? Cos most of the people came out as silhouettes ... not intentional! So how do I make sure they still come out visible .... meter on them and shoot from there.

if u have spot meter then meter off the sky beside the sun. the reason y most of ur pics came out as silhouettes is becoz of the evaluative metering of ur cam.. it takes into account the bright sun thats in...
not really gd at explaining hope this helps

Thx for your inputs.
Yup, guess was the centre-weighted metering that helped screw things up... that and my inexperience.
They all turned out like sunsets!!

Re: Try these...
Why one fast and one slow??

Simple lens, no filters. Use a piece of exposed X-Ray film to cover the lens, stop-down and do a double-exposure. One fast exposure and one slow exposure.
