FA set to be handed Wembley stadium keys
The handover of keys to the new Wembley stadium is 'imminent' as final tests were nearing completion.
Sources close to the £800million contract said the so-called practical completion of the troubled project was in sight.
Consumer goods such as soap and drinks have been delivered to the complex, and final testing of the fire alarms was said to be progressing well.
The development means the FA Cup final is on course to be staged at Wembley on May 19.
The number of visitors to the site has steadily increased in recent weeks and a community day is due to go ahead on March 17.
There has been speculation that the keys could be handed over at the end of the week, although builders Multiplex said today they could not comment on media speculation.
Hope we will be the first one to use it during FA CUP FINAL this season!
