Default urgently need an advice from newbies and pro...

hi ! i'm currently using sony dcs-h1 for my pleasure in photography. I took many pics from potraits to sceneries. I love travelling and active in taking engagement pics. However would like to go further in taking wedding pics too. They said for wedding definitely u have to own a DSLR in order to get a good shot. I'm still deciding on the brand and model of camera that i shld get. Some recommended nikon D50 n D80. I totally hv no idea about any DSLR cameras. So can anyone gimme some advice on which camera shld i get and perfect for me to take shots wen travelling and most importantly wedding...without having less fuss in upgrading softwares or blah blah blah.....
Can be use for long term too. Thanx.

even the cheapest camera can get you decent shots if you know how to fully utilize them...
same goes for dSLR.

Ah, but the question is, are your shots limited by the camera, or you? =D

You will have to consider the whole system not just the body alone.

YMMV

There are many who use DSLRs for weddings and events and still cannot get decent shots. How?

Who's "they"? Come, tell me. Ever heard of the phrase "it's not the camera, but the photographer, who makes the photograph"?

While I own a DSLR now, and my creativity is very much less limited, it was good photos from a P&S camera that inspired me to continue on this journey of photography, not photos from an expensive DSLR.

You can take a look at the price guides. Then dun forget to factor in the rest of the stuff like flash, dry box, memory cards, etc...

You will be more limited by it than a dSLR, but it is still possible...
a slave flash might help.

oh is that so ??? Well..actually ,i'm kinda lost rite nw. All these while i've been enjoying myself taking pictures here n there. Doing for frenz engagements and sum other small functions. SUDDENLY a fren juz came to me and ask me to do for her wedding.
I then ask myself if i shld go for it or not. Definitely i want to gv my best shot...but wedding is sumthing that happen once and that wat makes me PAUSE! I may hv the passion, effort n sufficient skills for photography. But it's juz the items that i'm lacking of. Hope u understand. sori for the long speech.hehe
