G2 filters/flashes

Hi,

Does anyone know if G2 can take any filters (UV/polarising, etc). Canon doesn't recommend any as accessories.

Also, apart from the recommended Canon flashes, are there any 3rd party flashes that can be used? What would their price be like?

I'm getting S-HMC Polarizer and ND8 fliter. You also can get vitacon UV fliter.

You can get 420ex. Price is around $300+
