Default Tips on IR Post Processing

Just got back from Siem Reap today - took around 200 various shots with IR with the R72.

I've seen some websites on post processing. Any previous threads with tips on Post Processing?

HEre's what they reco:
Auto Levels
Channel Mixer or Desaturate
Hue/Saturation
Blur for effect (optional)

Here is my first output for comments -

Your hue is weird..

With Hoya R72, what I usually do would be: [note, this is probably only for Sony H series, because I get a reddish-magenta image, due to limited WB thingaboob]
1) Layer Duplicate
2) Tweak hue to MY satisfaction (haha a lot of people find it weird sometimes, I notice), desaturate a little, most of the time.
3) Apply Gaussian Blur about 5.0 most of the time
4) Change Layer type to Color
5) Flatten Image
6) Auto Levels
7) Minor tweaking.

Sometimes use AutoColour, the results can be very nice at times.

Haha The tree looks a bit purple. I was exchanging notes with dni423 just now. I might have gotten my white balance wrong. Should've read Max 2.8's sticky on custom white balance WITH the filter on. I guess one option is to make it monochrome instead.

It does look like WB problem. But if you shot RAW, it's still possible to try to get some color out of the pics. Do you get a RED picture out of cam?

Yes, bloody red. This is the original picture.

So dni423 tells me that -you need to shoot at P mode and point at green grass to set WB correctly.

Yeah, not sure if you need P mode.. But anyways, custom WB on green grass in sunlight. =D With filter on.

From what I understand..With your Nikon D70.. Should be able to get near those typical snowy pictures you usually see right away.
