Don't know what freebie they'll give, unless they give a DA 50-200mm else not impress by the price
Anyone asked for the price without the freebies? Really weird freebies!

Big babies lah Compare to equivelent C/N lenses, the 16-50/2.8 isn't big at all.

Smaller the better... It's the MAIN reason why I changed to Pentax. Lighter, more efficient, plus more cost effective!

Those lenses sure are nice to have. Can't see too much or I'll be drooling over my computer!
Can only hazard a guess that the lenses on display are pre-production display prototypes. AF motor/computer chip may be disabled or absent. BTW does Pentax actually sell direct or are the people manning the booth from a local retailer?

Cathay Photo is manning the booth. If you look closely at the staff, you will recognise some of them.

    OT a little bit.
    Anyone reads Japanese: http://www.fujiya-camera.co.jp/
They have an icon for the DA* lenses.
Are these already available in Japan?

No problem obtaining a translation. Just copy the internet address on to GOOGLE and search. When the address coms out in GOOGLE click on "translate this page" and this is what you will get:

DA★ 16-50mm F2.8ED AL [IF] SDM <The next few days sale> High picture quality digital* The series more and more appearance <<< in DA★ reservationacceptance 50-135mm F2.8ED [IF] SDM <The next few days sale> High picture quality digital* The series more and more appearance <<< in reservation acceptance

I gather from the above that the lenses will be available within a few days and the company is accepting reservations for them.

The following items were also on sale. Prices quite high.

The first price is when purchased with DSLR at IT Show, 2nd price is when the item is purchased alone.

    360FGZ $319 $399
    540FGZ $619 $699
    DA 50-200mm $399 $449
    BG2 grip $199 $249

FYI, I saw Sandisk booth on 6th level selling Sandisk Extreme III 2GB SD for $65, lower than the CF version selling for $80.
