would it be more interesting if u shifted more to the right, bringing the stroller close to the baby, and shooting on tele, putting either subject out of focus?

seems like the picture suffers from a lack of contrast as well.

That's a good suggestion, I can imagine it. I'd choose to put the baby and mom out of contrast to be in keeping with the theme. I have to balance between 'capturing the moment' and spending time to find a nice angle though.

Yeah, lack of contrast. It was like that for all shots that day. I think it's because I didn't have a lens hood on (hadn't bought one yet) and probably also because of the small spots of fungus in my lens as well.

I used an old 1970's Vivitar 70-210mm fully manual lens (x2 crop factor with an Oly camera).

I noticed the lack of contrast for all your VivoCity shots; I do think it may be the lens.

You could bring up the contrast and saturation a notch on PS.

Edit:
I took the liberty to post-process a bit; hope you don't mind cjtune.

Thanks! Looks much better!

Maybe it's time to get that Zuiko 50-200mm ED...

This is a cute shot. The overall picture looks a bit soft to me.

Bro,
Yes, I fully agree. Many times we see something and there just isn't time to capture 'that' fleeting moment. That's where the PROs come in.

I've realized candid shots is not really my cup of tea, I'd rather stick to landscapes. Moreover, I too shy lor.

You'll still need the pram/stroller even when your kid knows how to walk/run, as there are times when he/she get tired and needs to sleep while you're busy shopping in the shopping centre. Trust me, carrying a 20kg sandbag for a day is

Nice catch, and I thought of another possible caption, "Will you still love me tomorrow?"

Hmm, isn't "Will you still love me tomorrow?" trademarked by some singer?

Good advice. Will try to remember when I have kids... it's probably in that transition period when they are big enough to walk but not that grown up yet that they can walk even moderate distances.

After awhile your skin gives you +1 or +2 armour and you can even wave back and smile at your quarry which has spotted you. I've been even picked out by announcers on stage to NOT take photos their photos. I just clicked a few more shots, smiled back, and then only walked away.

I am too scared even for sniper mode. Even if I manage to shoot and look away, I can still feel eyes piercing my back , my blood pressure goes up and I get panic heart attacks

Many of my candid shots are the behinds of people

The most famous street sniper is Henri-Cartier Bresson... not because he was shy, but he wanted to capture people as they are. Getting all the stares, or conversely, the happy smiley face with the 'V' finger sign kinda impacts the 'authenticity' of a street photo. But sometimes can add to the mood too:

But nothing beats being at a 'decisive moment':

Dang, I need a better telephoto lens and an IS body for shots to turn out better...
