That would depend on whether cost is a concern or not.
The absolute best flash for the LC1 is the Leica SF24D which is the only flash that works in TTL mode with the LC1 (and its Leica twin, the Digilux 2) and costs $4xx. The Panasonic flash that's listed in the LC1 manual is the DMW-FL28 which only works at best in Auto mode and costs ~$280.... if you can find it in stock that is. Otherwise, you can try any of the other third party or even branded flashes available... at your own risk, of course. ![]()

I have checked the specs of the flashes, as stated on the manual. The difference is the make off course, and GN number. They are really ex, as tomcat says. Maybe can try out other brands like Olympus and Nikon, which I saw some discussion saying they are compatible. But how do we know if those flash is compatible with the cam ? Does it mean the flash fires and pics comes out OK means compatible ? Would SB400 do the job, as not so big size and is reasoble priced ? Anyone can comment on this ? Thanks

I have a Nikon SB22s which I mated with my previous FZ20 using the auto mode, bounce with compensation. It came out nice. Purchased and used the Nikon flash because I read in forums that its voltage is one of the most consistent to that of other brands that could fry your cam. Hope this help.
