Default Will a teleconverter help in Macro photography?

Using a +4 and +2 stacked, have to be about 20cm away in order to focus, will a teleconverter allow me to shoot from a further range?

wat you need is an extension tube not a teleconverter....

    Yes, it will.

Some animals or insects need private space, if your lens closest distance is already 45cm. Then adding a close up filter or bellow might risk invading their private space. The insect may fleet for its life.

With a 2X teleconvertor, you can now obtain a 2X magnification and still maintaining the 45cm focus distance. With flash, the 2 stop loss in light is not an issue.

Extension tube or close up filter are more suitable for those lens with min distance >0.8m or for taking pictures of dead animals

I tried using the teleconverter with a +4 closeup and the max zoom...big mistake.....the dof is so shallow and the focal length is so long that a slight hand jerk and the subject is blurred.
