Default panoramic format?

hi experts and peeps,

as per the matchbox DIY pin-hole, if i make the film capture as a panoramic format, will it work?

i'm intending to drill a tiny hole using a pin and instead of square crop, i'd like to have it in panoramic format, say final output as 2X 35 frames... what size of hole and distance to film should i need to make it to?

Cheers

PL

HAven't seen one like that...maybe you want to trial and error. Another option is to go kino to order the Gakken stereo pano pinhole camera.

you can find out the optimum pinhole size, the main problem is how are you gonne measure the size of the hole?

some info may able to find here.

thanx bros!

I'm just wondering also...how "wide" the coverage for one hole is (assuming that i make them same....+/- SD of .2mm? lol)

if say one hole covers say a 1 X 35mm frame before the 1st edge vignette, does 2 holes cover 2X 35mm frame?

hmmmmmmmmm

might need to join a few biscuit tins then!

lol!

i'm so excited about the matchbox pinhole, i'm gonna rummage thru my drawers later

that one no idea.... but my gakken pinhole can cover 2 frames at 3cm. the pinhole is about f180. My zorki pinhole is quite small(never measure), can cover full frame at 1.8cm.
Some guy on the net goes to 1cm. so I think the limit is 1cm.

say for the matchbox, from the pinhole to the film plane, its 1.0cm or 100mm, what should the size of the pinhole be to be able to get sharp pics?

i thot i remembered seeing some form of calculation thingey and pics on how to calculate the diameter of the hole against a ruler?

hmm

aluminium foil also can, put it on a piece of wood or something hard, and poke it lightly with the finest needle you can find.

It's quite easy to do, just go online google to find the optimum pinhole size, puncture the hole thru a brass or alumn sheet (brass prefered) then use a loupe and a ruler to estimate the size of the hole.

I use the software called "Pinhole Designer" to do the calculations.

It doesn't need to be EXACT just close enough will do.

As for the pano, you can try concaving your film plane in order to prevent too much vignetting esp. if you are setting your pinhole to be wide.
