Krabi should be fine. The locals there are friendly on the island.

I am currently sitting in the dinning room of the Narima in Ko Lanta, backfrom a wonderful dive in Hin Daeng. All seems well and safe... except underwater where I got stung by an anemone... but that was my fault!

    Yes and No.
    Depends on your luck.
    If bombs then cannot predict.

As for robbery, don't show off your money.
    Don't wear too much gold.

    Stay low profile.
    Be polite.

Don't stay in too low budget motels without proper security or located along lonely dark lanes.

Krabi's on the west side of southern thailand; the trouble spots are in the eastern side of south thailand. After having been there for a number of times in recent years, the only thing you need to worry about is drinking way too much beer (its bloody cheap there) and mistaking trans for real women.

    Hi!

But this voice from Krabi is originating from the safety of an apartment in Ang Moh Kio.

Then the problem is being flexible and grateful about what mistaken gift Krabi delivers you.

was in bkk during the new year when the bombing incidents occurred.
security was tighten immediately after the bombing, police was checking and scanning all individual with bags when going into public buildings. presence of army can be seen & stationed at strategic locations (eg BTS, MRTs, buildings). so i guess it is safe going to thailand.
