Yes, Canon is amazing. Digital photography is exploding. All that's missing is a G4.

BTW the S400 succeeds the S330, methinks, not the V3.

Unfortunately, except for the 10D, all the offerings STILL suffer the same shortcoming, which is a small CCD and small lenses, resulting in very large DOF.

What I need is an IXUS that can give me the same shallow DOF which my 50mm f1.8 can.

S300, S330, S400 have 3X zoom.

V2 and V3 have 2X zoom. Logically the successor would have been called V4.

But YSLee is right - the button layout and size looks like V3.

If Canon is following the way they named their film SLRs, then the next DSLR could be 5D !

Wahh, at the rate in which the digital camera scene is progressing, how to decide when to buy one? I guess they probably have a more advanced technology now, maybe a 100D?! but due to marketing strategy, they hold them back.

I thot the S45 just came out few months back and now an S50 is in?!!!

The G1, S30, etc barely 2 years old production are worth peanuts now. So too will the D30, D60, 1D in a short time to come. What costs $4000 now will drop to $1500 in 2 short years!

DSLR not worth it unless you really need it in your work or if you get it 2ndhand. My personal opinion...

Anyone knows how much will be the US street price for the 17-40 f4? Hopefully it'll be in the price range of the 70-200f4 which is hmm.. $1.3K? I'm really interested in this.. been wanting to buy a WA for quite some time.....

Now you have a lot more control - aperture and shutter priority as well as full manual.
