    Lavasoft Ad-Aware - great anti-spyware.
HijackThis - after ad-aware and other anti-virus failed, this managed to kill the hijacker that push my browser to wordsea.com website.

A recent freeware that helped "saved" my weakening heart when I accidently deleted my cny captures from my camera when I selected "delete all" is SmartRecovery. Gosh I am thankful as the captures contained precious moments

    Mediacoder

Great for people who owns PMPs (Portable Media Players). The learning curve is a little steep but the forums are helpful and it's great when you need to do transcoding between media formats.

Audacity is a nifty sound editor.
Spybot Search & Destroy is also damn good for killing off spyware on your system.

    AVG - anti-virus
Spyware Blaster - real time prevention of spyware and adware
Ad-aware - check if my spyware blaster is sleeping but so far both are excellent

If you people REALLY want to share, then you need to do 2 additional things

    1) State what OS that application requires
    2) Put up a link for others to have quick access.
