Photoshop is a graphic software that allows you to do a host of things.
LR1 is a specialist software targeting the photographer. What does it do?

    > it can read jpeg, psd, dng and tiff
    > it has a library that allows you to organise your photo files
    > the develop module allows you to adjust things like exposure, saturation, vibrance, hue, WB, noise, sharpness etc. in various options
    > there is a spot healing tool and a red eye removal tool
    > you can prepare slideshows, webpages and print
