Default Another way of modding Konica Wai Wai

17mm Wai Wai lens on Russian RF

Crazy stuff to start this Lunar New Year! From Crazy Japanese!

Definitely best way to save you the trouble of reloading the disposable camera!

NW75,

The distance between lens rear to film plane have to be 2cm to get the focus. SLR is too far.

I just tried to reload the wai wai. Seems pretty easy but the funny thing is the film holder is too small for 36 exposures, so it becomes really tight. And I realised poking a stick into the hole on top is to lift the film advance wheel up from a stopper, I broke the stopper instead. The crucial one is the slot beside the viewfinder, if you get it right, the gear that cocks the shutter can move both ways.

Looking at the film holder, I doubt you can recycle alot, because the slot for you to wind the film is made with soft plastic, mine is already pretty worn out...after winding 1 roll with a screwdriver.

I'll say its a failed experiment but it only takes about 10 to 15mins to get everything done.

Now move on to the mod to fit my Zorki 4k which I think will save alot of trouble.

*grumble*...*grumble*....

anyone wants to have a go at modding the 17mm lens, PM me?

btw, regarding the loading, i read it's best to use 24 or less exposure film cos the 36 won't fit nicely, causing it to have film overlapping until the spool takes up the slack. BTDT with my konica...

i see some pics online...some guys even use tmax, etc....they must be doing something right with the 36 exposures.....or do u think they cut it down? or sacrifice the last few shots?
