By the way, are you getting any teleconvertor/wideconvertor?

i'm looking into the Original TC for G3, any comments?

hey mega, or whoever is there, how about recommending me a good TC/WC for my G3? (58mm thread)

I heard the original TC/WC is good for G3 (1.75x) but can't attach lenses infront of it, can it be done on the end side though?

Here's my G3.

Standard G3, with Lensmate 58mm adaptor, and a Hoya UV filter. Still pondering on the pricey 420EX, as well as teleconvertors.

Deliquent, you can go to dpreview's canon forum and do a search on "G3 raynox" and "G3 tiffen".. that should bring you some comments on Raynox and Tiffen lenses for G3... I guess the Tiffen lenses are optically better, but the thread size is a major problem. The Raynox lenses are not as optically good, but fits the G3 just nice....

Just some Photoshop work to eliminate the cluttered background that is my desk at home.

I am sorry if this reply got nothing to do with the thread. I am a G3 owner as well, thinking of buying some G3 lenses. But I do not know their usage. Can somebody explain their function.... esp:
- WC-DC58N
- TC-DC58N

Is G3 limited to the lenses specifcy by Canon? Or I can use 3rd party lenses?

TIA

- WC-DC58N = Wide angle converter. The WC-DC58N is a 0.7x wide angle converter.
- TC-DC58N = Teleconverter. TC-DC58N is a 1.75x teleconverter, which means it allows you to have a more 'powerful' zoom than that of the G3 in-built.

Basically you can use other lenses however, you may suffer from inferior optical quality. Third party brands include Tiffen, Raynox, and Century Optics.

Personally I think the 420EX would be a good investment, considering if you will be moving on to a canon DSLR cam in the future.. you can use the EX.Flash as well
