Thinking of getting Nikkor Lens 12-24 F/4 for general use or should I get a 10.5 F/2.8 Fisheye?

I suggest you borrow from your friend and try up before buy.

On a DSLR, it would be a good range of 18 - 36mm... pretty good for general wide-angle shots. For the 10.5, you have to defish the shots to get a picture without distortion...

These 2 lens serve different purpose. It depends on what you want to shoot and what effects you want.
