Hi,
just got a V2 recently.Want to know that is it necessary that I use up all the battery b4 I recharge it?Would there be any problems if I do that?Thanks! ![]() |

Actually, this practice of discharging batts before charging them was due to something called the memory effect. However, I read the it was a problem with the previous generation of batts (NiCD). If I remember correctly, the current technology, NiMH and Li-on doesn't have this problem anymore.
Btw, I've read the V3 manual b4 and it says that it's ok with charge the batt at any pt in time. |

BTW,I learnt that the art of capturing shots at close range is called macros rite?Can V2/V3 do macros? |

Memory effect is much reduced and near negligible with NiMh.
Bear in mind that NiMh last for 300-500 charge cycles compared to >1000cycles for NiCd. So doing unecessary charge/discharge on NiMh is just wearing out your battery prematurely. Your V2 uses lithium right? If so, there is no memory effect concern at all. |
