Actually, this practice of discharging batts before charging them was due to something called the memory effect. However, I read the it was a problem with the previous generation of batts (NiCD). If I remember correctly, the current technology, NiMH and Li-on doesn't have this problem anymore.

Btw, I've read the V3 manual b4 and it says that it's ok with charge the batt at any pt in time.

Thanks for your replies!!
BTW,I learnt that the art of capturing shots at close range is called macros rite? Can V2/V3 do macros?

Memory effect is much reduced and near negligible with NiMh.

Bear in mind that NiMh last for 300-500 charge cycles compared to >1000cycles for NiCd.

So doing unecessary charge/discharge on NiMh is just wearing out your battery prematurely.

Your V2 uses lithium right? If so, there is no memory effect concern at all.

So is "topping up" the battery considered a percentage of 1 charge cycle or 1 charge cycle?

Seemed like 1 cycle charge to me,every time it's charged..Just a guess...
