Hey guys and gals,
Please offer some advice on focusing. I have some troubles focusing on certain subjects for example small flowers thus resulting in blur images(not due to shaky hand). Can explain the logic/principles behind it? Sometimes my autofocus will work on the same subject while at times it simply fails. I am using Canon Powershot G2. |

For the G2, your macro distance is quite a bit. Check your manual.

you need to enable macro mode for close-up shots. there's still a min distance you have to be away before you can focus though.

I must agree G2 is not very good for close up shots. Are there other factors other than the camera focal length?
