Default Advice on purchasing lens from HK

After browsing the site, http://www.ygdragon.net/index.php?pa...ameraprice.htm, I decided to get a relative travelling over there to help me purchase a lens. Since my relative has not much knowledge regarding camera stuffs, i'm afraid that she might get a lemon.

Primary concern;
Will I be able to get international warranty? Is the shop, Mongkok Wing Shxng a credible shop? Such that it wont sell lemons to unknowing customers(since my aunt doesnt possess a dSLR to test the lens) and over charging 'new' customers.

please advise.

Mongkok Wing Shing is a reputable shop.

For lenses, at least for Nikon, they issue the usual Int'l Warranty - cum - receipt. They are one of the authorised dealers anyway.

As to getting a lemon, well, it's best that a knowledgeable person tag along your aunt as there're no two ways about it.

If there is international warranty, lemon can be safe guarded ba. Yup, i'm looking to purchase a nikkor lens.

Will consumer be charged with extra $$$ for international warranty or it comes with it?

Mongkok Wing Shing &/or Man Shing; no extra charges for int'l warranty; cos they are the authorised Nikon dealers.

Unlike others, e.g., Tin Cheung. Yes T.C. prices are cheaper comparatively, but those prices are for local &/or P.R.C. warranties only.

So it's safe you have decided on Wing Shing.

But I still don't buy the idea that just because there's int'l warranty you get your aunt to buy it. Surely, you must have some friends, colleagues, etc who could offer some help in at least making sure that you get a new lens to start with; not that Wing Shing would do otherwise but it's always better to be safe.

Curious. What lens are you after?

probably a Nikkor FE 10.5mm.

Since she is going over for holiday, and i'm not in a ruch to get this lens. Its just that the opportunity is there that i would go for the FE.
