Ngee Ann, then move onto NTU.

If you make it to a JC, just pia and study hard.

Honestly if you know what you want to do with your life now, go poly then uni. JC students only know how to study hard, and are at a disadvantage in university compared to the polytechnic students when faced with practicals and life skills.

I'm from VJC and currently doing Business IT in SMU, and i really feel that poly people are better equipped. Bottom line is, do well wherever you go!

*abit OT. Back to the topic, SMU's IT course not very good, because it is still in its infancy, and will not be specialized in information, security and trust.

once you get into poly...dont SLACK..because u need good grades to get into uni. and also, poly has reduced their standard so much because many students do not put in effort to study. especially engineering courses. my point is..once ure in poly, aim for good grades and not slack or skip sch...... Come SP! =D

I did think of JC route, but I don't think I can make it.

I did thini of going to uni via the poly route. How I get there is another thing(eg work then study or work and study or study right after ns)

But now I am facing fierce oppsiton from my mother about my first choice.

And does going to a computer course make you a nerd?

In whatever you do, just try your best. Even the best schools have drop-outs.

If you're aiming for a university degree, there's a lot more opportunities now. Not only NUS, NTU and SMU now. There are a lot of others like SMU and private ones. However, some may not be recognised here, so you've got to do some research. I know of a lot of friends who went to private U's and are doing very well now. Doesn't mean you have to go to top U's then you'll do well, but they'll put you at a better position.

As for IT related studies, try to do some research on SP and NP. They've been offering many IT courses since 80s and 90s, so in terms of resources and experience, definitely there. Of course, there are also a lot of other polys which are also good. Choose what you're interested in by reading up their prospectus. You can find Singapore Poly one here. I only know SP one cos I'm from SP!

All the best to your selection process and studies.

Nanyang's website has no information on what I will study if I take a certain IT course. Or am I wrong?
