Newbie needs advice - Canon A40 -

Hi

I am seriously considering starting out on Digi cameras.

Would like to take it for underwater shots, in addition to the usual snap shots. Yes, I would like to print them onto 4R, and maybe the occassional 8R or so.

With a rather limited budget, I was toying with the A40.

Is there are comments on this model ?

Any alternative brand or model that would be a good & reliable bet ?
