read dpreview and imaging resource
they generally do in-detail camera reviews which would give you a pretty solid idea of whether this cam is a good buy |

i read the review on ixus 60 .. sounds pretty gd ... but seems like everyone is asking mi to get 850is ... actualli i need the cam just for normal shoots not those professional shoots .. so is there any diff ?
cos i am buying for my bro and he is using it mostly to take pics with his frens .. kindly advice .. if i can get a good buy .. y not ? i called ap the other day .. 850 is is 645 with a one gb sd card .. the canon road show is offering ixus 60 with a 1 gb sd card , combo card reader, extra canon batt and cam case for 499 . and also .. i would like to noe how much does the 850is extra batt cost ? |

even for normal shots, i think imaging resource mentioned that the contrast settings on ixus 60 is pretty extreme at times
and the battery life is inferior, could be problematic since it's using rechargeable li-on if you don't mind using non-original http://www.bargaincity.com.sg/oshop/...2f5782eaf4d236 $28 on bargaincity, price might differ elsewhere |

Personally, for canon, I think the powershot series is very good. But the IXUS... IMHO, no good.
of course, most super slims have to sacrifice the quality. |

I think fuji F30 and F31 is a pretty good compact slim. Unless ur very brand consious over canon, you might consider it.
