    i'd suggest you stay in nyjc.

    you live nearby;
    you already have friends and acquaintances established;
    you like the photog society;

    and most importantly:

    you're (pretty) happy there.

    unless staying in nyjc can seriously affect your future, forget abt changing schs.

    i had to spend an hour travelling to my jc then - it sucked cos it ate up time. and why sleep on the bus/train when you can sleep in the comfort of your own bed?

    So why think so much now if you are already happy where you are.

    Ever hear "the grass is greener on the other side"?

    However, think about the fact some poor bugger is standing "on the other side" thinking about your side!

    This gives me a headache...

    I suggest u stay where u are happy.

    I'd made the mistake by staying put in one of the top 5 JCs becoz of prestige, friends say I should, etc ... when I could opt for another JC so near my home.

    Travelling long dist everyday is damn tiring. and I was very unhappy in JC, too much pressure in those top JCs. and the tutors and principal too concern abt rankings that they dun care abt other developments, unless the activities u join will boost their reputation or ranking.

    Ever thought about ACS (I)?....Can opt for Visual Art as one of the 6 subjects, and do photography as the medium of choice....cut off is 7 points, but with a RAW of 8, you might just make it with whatever bonus/discount points you might have, the Photog Club is also expanding rapidly.

    Btw, the deadline is 14 Feb 2007, 1600h.

    I've already applied for VJC as first choice, TJC, NYJC, SAJC, AJC, CJC in that order. (all science, doing bio chem math@H2, econs@H1)

    I pray that God will let me look back on this day, and not regret my decision. Even though I'll be leaving my friends, I'll try to keep in touch as much as possible.

    Thanks for all the advice from everyone, and I hope that everyone will wish me well.

    Cheers

    hey! I m from NY photog too, just graduated last year.

    It seems that u have made up your mind, i have no intention of persuading u to stay in ny anyway. I guess u havin spent the last few weeks in ny would know for yourself what the school culture is like. I feel there is little point in debating over which jc is best so where ever u go just make the best of it.

    anyway just curious.... where were u posted to? And pehaps i will see u in NY when i do go back to collect my results. All the Best to You.

    Anyway, end of the day you guys are gonna take the same exam paper to decide which uni you're going to. And in the end, what's the degree for? A passport to get a job. Afterwards, is the degree gonna matter in your subsequent life decisions? Less and less so.

    Speaking about which, I better get my ass up or my 'passport' is gonna be pretty limited.
    BULLSh*t my ass. looking at ur reply, it just shows how lack of depth ur brain is. Go and wake up ur idea.
