I have my first (unpaid) wedding shoot in July and want to be prepared...
Was thinking that a flash unit would be a good idea. I use a 350D and am pretty happy with the lenses I have. Do you think it's a good idea? Any recommendations? |

If you're doing table shots, you will need a flash.

Using flash enhances the turnout of the photos.. It is definitely worth investing in an external flash unit..

By the way good flash units in my opinion is the Force from canon itself.. You might want to consider 430EX or a powerful and solid option 550EX or 580 EX.. I have a 3 year old 550EX, Never ever thought of upgrading to a little more power 580 EX.. Freaking Solid.. Third party would include a Sigma DG 500 Super around 200++ , Sunpak or nissin.. or any other brands i never hear.. well for some of this flashes they don't support e-ttl for fast sync. and some you can only work with manual selection.. or if if want the flash makers - metz... The best Flashes to get is with canon speedos( ) itselfs hehe especially for amateurs like me..

Yes it matters quite alot! It will be totally different
You might want to rent one during the event and test it out first.. |

If have enough budget, go all out for the 580EX. After that u will not change it for quite sometime...maybe after a newer model is out. (e.g. 600EX??)
