The only thing I like about FD lens is they are cheap. For the price of one EF L lens, you may get a full range of fast prime FD lens. MOST of the FD lens output quality are really good. I have not tried the FD-EOS converter but from what I have read, it works but you may lost about half a stop. Last edited by jimtong; 7th February 2007 at 10:55 PM. |

generally, yes.
QC was higher in those days. L-lenses of today don't seem to have as good QC. if you want to see good QC EOs lenses, look at the early ones from the last century. i.e. from 1980s to mid 1990s |

A lens with a wide maximum aperture, usually we are talking about F2.8 and wider (F1.4, F1.2). Because when use in low light situations, it can maintenance a fast shutter speeds, thus preventing blur image resulting from slow shutter speed.

I agree with you, I use 35/2 but this lens got a yellow color cast, which I think not very helpful in some scenario in color photography. But sharpness is very good.

there is a way to cure the colour cast. Leave it in a window with sunlight but no rain for a month ... or place it in a well cooled and ventilated enclosure with rear side facing UV lamp for a month. it will clarify the lens.
