Default Film scanning at KT Digital - scratches on images

Hi everyone,

A photographer friend of mine recommended KT Digital at Hong Lim for my film developing and scanning needs. I find their service friendly and prices reasonable, but so far all the rolls (Fujicolor C200) that I've gotten back have scratches appearing on some of the scanned images. They're not obvious - just fine white horizontal lines, which I can fix in Photoshop, but still, I wonder why...

At first I thought it was my SLR that was scratching the film up, so I didn't think to question KT, but I later switched to shooting with my LC-A, and there were similar scratches. My LC-A has never given me any problems like this before at other developers.

Could it be that the scratches occurred during the film scanning? Anyone had a similar experience? Thought I ask here before I approach KT at my next visit.

Thanks.

Same happens at Fotohub. Their machines may be dusty/dirty thus scratching the negs. It happens.

You might want to approach us with the negatives to check. Sometimes the scanner might be dirty, and we'll rescan for you if it is so.
