How to test out a brand new 24-105mm lens?

Apologies for asking such a question... Perhaps someone can be able to direct a thread with relevant information... If there is no such thread, maybe i ask my query here..

How can l test out a brand new 24-105mm lens for any faults or errors? ie. what are the important areas to look out for when buying new lens.

For eg.
1. look for fungus
2. check for international warranty
3. what other technical areas that I should look for before buying the lens?

If u look at the glass, it must be clear. U can tell if there is fungus. If u r buying a L lens then chances are there wont be any fungus as the owners would take care very well.

The warranty itself is international.

To test the lens best is bring your own cam body. U must be able to focus and take a few pic to test for sharpness and focussing.

Thought TS is buying a brand new lens? If I am the one who is buying, I jsut check for AF, and the IS. It is rather difficult to have so detailed check at the shop.

Thanks for the tip. Most probably i be bringing my camera to test out e lens.

Currently I am waiting for Tong from CS to take orders for the lens again.. I can only confirm when Tong confirm the order and shipment date with me.. That would be great if u can come along to test out the lens~~
