Thanks for sharing, but how does this compare to other OTGs like the Vosonic?
A Vosonic costs under $600 , whereas a P5000 costs S$1218. ![]() |

Just look at the screen is enuff liao... its the only hi-res, vibrant color screen available now... Vosonic's best screen is not even 1/2 the capability of the P2000 screen.

With the price of flash base storage card getting lower & lower each day, it make the epson price look less attractive now. S$888 can buy about 36Gbytes CF card already
e.g. Ridata 150X CF and SD

I used to be looking at the epson too. But IMO, the Creative Zen Vision W is a good alternative. It's well built and the screen is much improved over the earlier version. It has stronger video capabilities than the epson, if multimedia is what you are also interested in.
I got my 60GB for abt $570. Good value for $$ I feel. |

Im very interested in the Epson P-3000/5000 line, but worried about performance.
The Epson is renowned for its screen which is large (4"), high res (640x480) and colour (4 colour LCD). It beats everything else in terms of screen quality. But the first p-2000 suffered from slower than average photo transfer and load times. I heard the p-4000 improved on it. I hope the P-3000/5000 has improved on it further. Also (and this is impt to me)... it can display RAW files. The p-2000 was slow, but ive heard the p-4000 was better. Can anybody comment on the RAW image load times for the p-3000/5000? Also anybody know how Canon's M30/80 device compares to the Epsons? |

speed is relative but I feel that the P3000 is much faster than the P2000. It is fast enough that I find using it very comfortable. I sometimes even use the P3000 to view photos at home instead of my IMAC.
BTW, RAW file viewing is usually faster than high res jpegs as they view an embeded jpeg with lower resolution. The epson video is quite good. I find that it can play quite a number of different codecs and the quality is really stunning on screen. Quite comfortable viewing. |
