Default is $500 a good deal?

Hello everyone, i just would like to enquire if a $500 is a good deal for this bundle consisting of:-

1. Canon 300D body (condition 8/10)
2. two batteries (200-300 shots per battery)
3. charger
4. 256MB compactflash card

am planning to hunt for a kit lens for maybe 50-60 on the forum.

your advice would be greatly appreciated

Hard to tell. You need to consider the followings and test the camera before deciding to purchase. If possible, print the picture to verify the result.
  1. Age of the camera body
  2. Shutter counts
  3. Age
of the batteries

You may need to purchase a higher capacity CF card as 256MB may not be sufficient for DSLR of 6MB pixels.

Frankly, my personal opinion, be very very careful of cheap offer especially you are on tight budget.

Cheers!

to me, batteries and CF card is not attractivev at all, the charger is stand package even if u buy another model. So the price only reflect on the camera alone. In addition, it's BODY ONLY. Same thing, check for shutter count, cosmetics - tell u how good the owner taking care for the gear.

Sometimes if it is too good to be true, it probably is.

i think @ $500, the price is just reasonable, not really cheap. afterall this is a pretty old camera (3yrs) and considering a 350D body can be gotten at about $850+/-.
