U guys think there's a demand for a used XL2? Contemplating selling mine

Depends on selling price actually. Cheap will draw demand.

If you think you will need it don't sell, because it is still a great camera. If you don't need it, sell as soon as possible because SD is getting old very fast. Maybe it isn't really, but there is now a campaign to push HD in Singapore, so people's perceptions will tend to be like that.

With prosumer high def models flooding the market at below $3k, XL2 has lost that segment of market. Only the pro and serious users will still be interested.

With the world heading to HD the $4k price tag is way over the top, no matter how new. I won't pay anything more than $2K

I appreciate what you say, having recently sold my XL2 in favour of a Canon XH-A1, but I think you can still get a couple of years of paid work from the XL2. HD is great, but there is still no delivery medium for it and this is not going to change overnight. The XL2 is a very nice camera and capable of fine images. The lens alone is easily worth more than $1K so $2K for the whole cam is definitely on the low side.

You cant get a camera for 4k, a DVX will cost 5k. XL2 6.5k. XHA1, 6.7k.

Dont even mention about the PDs. so 4k is the price for a good decent SD camera.

I'm selling it becos its big.
If anyone is doing serious work. The only way to go is SD. Or go real HD.

I'm getting XHA1 becos I travel alot so size matters! its smaller, lighter, better viewfinder, and has the option to do HDV - But I intend to shoot SD most of the time (:

you must be kidding, since when was DVX $5k. You can get it for less than $4.2k with extra batt. FX1/FX7 for around $4.5k. The V1 for $6.5k, Z1 for $7.2k. The XL2 has always been over priced yet no big LCD screen for preview. Got Sony's new XDCAM EX for real HD broadcast quality.
