#11 Am I really leaving you guys? ...... converted to B&W and added grains and not too sharp a pic. But I like the feel and space.
![]() #12 At new place and getting used to it. ![]() #13 Comfortable and Sleeping ![]() Actually, not only do we miss her badly. Our cat also misses her badly. He is always kind of like waiting for her at the usual play place. Not eating as much as before and looks listless for the past 3 weeks after we rehomed her. But we couldnt keep anymore cats, otherwise she will be with us already. =( Thanks for looking. Comments are definitely welcome. =) Regards, tltan |

Hi dark_fusion,
All these I think were done with one light source. Natural sunlight from the windows. =) I have one shot that was done with bounced flash directed straight up the ceiling. Here it is. ![]() Regards, tltan |

They are very well taken!! Your cats/pets are so cute and lovely! I'm sure lots of love was showered at them.: )
Can you share some settings you used generally - aperture, speed, lens. thanks! |

Very nice series of pics here
Some seem a little sof tlike #5,6 11 and 12. Other than that you captured some lovely expressions. That last shot dosent really work as the bounced light didnt catch the eys making it look rather lifeless... |

All cats are born with blue eyes. They develop adult eye colour later.

Thanks. She is cute. Cats are easy animals to keep.
I like your cats pic. so photogenic We do adhoc rehoming. Meaning, if we find the kitten, we will milk feed it or whatever and then try to rehome. Cant keep more as we dont have our own home. but you can imagine next time how many we might have. hahahahaha. Regards, tltan |

But that is my desktop. Because I love the in your face kind of curious look. Of course, the background and stuff doesnt really make it a good picture. but its one of the first shots I took with the bounced flash. hehehe. I think to your comment, I need to use my LS for such shots to push some lights forward as well as get a lil bounce. As for the soft shots, I agree. Cause I was shooting ambient, also, at low shutter speed (plus a bit of coffee effect on my shaky hands hahaha). But I somehow like slightly soft protrayal of animal for those lazy moments. Sharp only for those intense moment such as #9 and #10. As in, I will shoot to achieve sharp shots for those moments only. =) Thanks bro. Keep a cat! ahha Thanks for all comments. |

Hi tltan,
your first 2 pics is enough to melt even the most hardcore of hearts. Magical moments captured by someone who loves animals alot. what a bittersweet business this is, having to let go of a kitten you saw growing up. Somehow the last few pics do not portray such feelings as strongly. I do have a cat myself. Too bad he arrived as a kitten way before the time of DSLRs. So now I am content to shoot him in his adult regal poses. Some questions: 1) how did you get the kitten to peer into your lens? 2) you run kitten rehousing as a business? 3) Was your cat hostile towards all these new kittens (in the beginning)? You are an inspiration man! Cheers. |

Yeah, the feeling of having to give her to another person is sad. But we have done it a total of 3 times already. =) All started with the milk stage...then to wet food...then to dry food. Thats the time we do the first vaccination and start looking for responsible owner. As for your questions (1) U move to the kitten front and capture it fast. they will be curious at first. Otherwise, make some noise, cats will normally look at you for that brief moment (and they keep pretty still to analyze the situation) and thats when you SNAP. =) (2) Kitten rehoming is not a business. Its a personal thing. actually, my other half is the one that is doing the main thing. She was the one that inculcated the caring of cats to me and I am glad. =) I believe no one does cat rehoming for business. not even dogs. Usually, the fees you have to pay to get a dog is for its vaccination as well as to serve as a warning that, they have a price too (albeit pretty low) and dont treat them like ****... (3) My cat is surprisingly used to it. For kittens, he plays with them, clean them up etc etc. Even for adult cats that we helped to take care of for a while, they were hostile to my cat rather then the other way round. hehe. But the cat "might" behave abnormally for a while such as peeing off at the wrong place during the period (mine doesnt for this particular kitten) to mark his territory. For this kitten, my cat really missed her. We can feel it. and now he is better after 4 weeks and starting to eat back. Anyway, my cat plays with my dog, a schnauzer. Thanks for the kind comments. =) Regards, tltan |

For cat photos, I always think that being technically perfect is one thing but to capture the mood of the cat is another thing, something much more difficult to do. But I see it in your photos. For me, mood outweighs the technicalities. I see the bond between you and the kitten, the kitten with the bigger cat.
I remember there was this photo a fellow forumer took for his female friend and cat. I thought it captures the bond between the cat and its owner and to the owner, was a very good photo but there were quite a few comments about technicalities. But to each his own. BTW, I have 5 cats too. ![]() |

I believe in capturing mood. But of course, being able to do it technically perfect is another level on its own. I remember the photo you mentioned too. Yes, that pic depicts the emotional bond between the owner and the cat. Hope that I can capture that someday. =) Thanks for the comments. Appreciated. Happy Cat Loving! Regards, tltan |
