Default Beautiful Red

Hehe, pls comment on the composition. I seem to have problems with composition quite often.

Think "Centre Of Interest" plus using rule of thirds.
For this pic, ur Centre of interest should be the open flower, so it should be placed further down left IMHO..

But will it look too empty if I move the open flower further down left?

Hi Evil_Angle,

Very nice picture, but I find that the green leaves right behind the flowers are a little too contrasty and stealing some lime light from the flowers. If it is just the flowers plus the darker leaves at the upper left corner it would be absolutely beautiful...

Cheers.

Use PS to "burn" the bright leaves....

I like the color tone to this pic, although I would prefer a tighter crop by ridding some of the space at the top.

The lateral perspective does not do much justice to the main subject (flower). Somehow, it leaves me with the feeling that more is to the flower than what is captured in this pic.

generally quite ok but a more vibrant colour, better contrast and less green behind will bring the subject out. i usually do not agree with using a canon border. is there a need for the validation or is it a lack of imagination?
