Had to start another thread because the previous one has degenerated..
![]() Just played around with my D200. If you make sure the moving parts, such as the knob to tighten the MB-D200 to the body, the eyelets for the strap, etc, are properly secured so that they won't rattle when you move the camera, the only sound you should hear should be the orientation sensor. If you orientate the camera from landscape to portrait and vice versa, you should be able to hear a faint click........tick...tick..tick.tick.. sound. This is normal and should not be a cause for concern. As for an earlier post regarding the D200 battery cover, it fits in the slot on the MB-D200 snugly so it should not rattle at all. |

The sound should be the vertical/horizontal level ball in the camera that detect if you are shooting in portrait or landscape mode

I don't hear a damn sound from the camera. The only sound I heard is the big screw knob sound from the MB-D200 as you turn your camera to either the H or the V position. That's all.

2 days didnt log in and my thread got locked because of some dim nitwit.
anyway, tested the d200. d200 WITHOUT MB200, 1)only upon shaking, then there's sound.(very very subtle, got to shake a bit hard to hear it) 2)when changing orientation from portrait to landscape and vice versa, not a single sound at all. d200 with mb200, 1)same as above 2)same as #1. with MB200 alone,(without D200 body), got sound when shake, even when i hold the locknut for locking it to d200 body. change orientation also got sound. conclusion: sound comes from the mb200. though the d200 alone has a very very subtle tick sound when shaked hard. What's the sound like ? tic tic tic or just clak clak ?
I had a tic tic sound once, but after a while it was gone. I assumed it was just sand or grit that got in and out. |
