Default Modified 35mm Holga queries.

Hi all,

I recently tried using 35mm film in my Holga - the traditional DIY method, with black tape and rubber bands and sponges because I was too indolent to get the 35mm adaptor - and the negatives actually turned out pretty alright! Problem is most of the shots are panoramic, or at least larger than the average frame, and as with most modified 35mm Holgas the numbers do not correspond with the images taken. Is scanning my only option, or can I take the negatives to a professional lab and have them printed there? (Neighbourhood printing outlets are out of the question; tried explaining the situation to the lady running the Kodak store at Toa Payoh Central and she looked as me as though I'd sprouted horns. ) Thanks!

34 clicks as stipulated by most Holga Mods pages. It worked pretty well. And yup, 36-exposure! =)

Thanks for the reply! Yup I'll probably end up scanning it but is there no way I can get it printed at all at the lab? =)

Hahaha sorry I can't really recall the number of turns I made with the film advance knob but the 34-click rule ought to be quite easy to follow! One word of advice though - if you're using a Holga which contains batteries be sure to tape it down, cos once you remove the film mask inside they're liable to start rattling around! I had to shut myself in a pitch-dark closet about five times while working my way through that one roll because I had to keep lodging the batteries back in without overexposing the film!

It really depends on how much light the film was exposed to and at which angle the light hit the film. Also, if there's a lot of film left in the canister (meaning you've finished taking, say, less than 10 shots) the remaining frames will probably turn out alright. Those you've already taken may look slightly fogged or have light leaks.

I am pretty happy with my shots too. I turn too much hence some frame aren't expose.
Better than my 120 ones.
Anyone knows where to get them scan cheap ?
