I feel that there are 2 things that are quite important here:

    1) Beware of the exposure's impact on color and texture of the clothings, especially on white e.g. wedding gowns... people tend to notice wedding gowns for their patterns, embrodiary, beads, lace, intricity of design, material etc.. if the shot is over exposed, the gown might come out as just a white sheet and all details are lost. if the shot is under exposed, then the details wouldnt stand out.

    2) Adjustments of clothings i.e. take note how the clothings are being worn and not just shoot without seeing. sleeves to be equal length, buttons are all up, make sure the zip is zipped, skirt is not hitched, bra strap concealed, visible panty line (VPL) hidden etc.

I think once you are able to accurately catch the intricate details of the clothings and start developing an eye to spot 'dressing blotches', you can then start exploring with other aspects of honing your skills.

actually, in fashion, and I don't mean fashion catalogs, really fashion fashion photography, the thing to look for is creativity and uniqueness of ideas...what that means is of course subjective and depends on trends...clothes being well adjusted, lighting and exposure, those things are a given and not the outstanding point...

Just do a search in Google, should be able to find tons. Of course don't limit yourself to singapore only.

Fashion to me is just about mood. It's all that matters to me.

I have to agree with everyone's comment.

Fashion Photography is one with no boundaries its about the mood that you bring to people. The concept you have in mind, the series that tells a story. The lighting in my opinion would be just something that brings you across to the next few pictures that gels everything together so there is many ways of seeing it. Experimental lights if done well makes people think its a new up and coming style thats where the photographer rises to be the next top. Following someone's style is to understand what else can be possible. I have to say sometimes even bra straps are exciting so need not necessary be hidden it can be about how you wear it, VPL lines maybe concepts or themes. It is norm for many to feel critical about a lot of details and what not to due to client and individual preferences but end of the day you have to like your own work selling is the second part. Like all fellow creators out there, fashion is being individual u can't be a messy person if you work in a neat environment.
