Nikon D100 Body

I am not sure if I got the information correct.

Is it true that the Nikon D100 body is made in China ? Someone told me that you can verify it from the box as well as under the camera body.

I know that most of the newer Nikon bodies are made in Thailand.

I don't know about your set, but my old old D100 was made in Japan.

But again, does it matters?

well, how do you know if yours is made in Japan or China ?

Not sure if there are difference in Q.C.

Can we call Shiro and check the serial no and find out ?

(1) It was printed MADE IN JAPAN instead of just JAPAN.

(2) QC should be the same, companies as such will have a QC program that must be followed no matter which is the country of manufacturing.

(3) Shriro no longer distributes Nikon products in Singapore, you might want to check with Nikon Service Centre, Singapore. => www.nikon.com.sg

Did u see the Made in Japan at the screen protector or at the bottom of the camera body ?

I went to a few website and saw Made in japan at the screen protector but made in Japan at the bottom of the body. This is interesting !!!

My D100 is stated "Made in Japan" at the bottom.
Why the interest over D100? You looking for a pre-own?

Yes, the D100 is manfactured in Japan. Confirmed.

Resistor from china...Metal from India...then some factory in thailand supply wire...then some other company assembly the PCB board together in Japan...ship to nikon and they put everything together...and they stick Made in Japan...Will you still buy it???

Just called up Nikon Service Centre and this is from the horses mouth.

There are a batch of D100 that is made in China but is for HK and North Asia Market. Manual are in Chinese. The D100 box has a D100 (C) which means it is made in China. The camera body has also a Made in China.

Some companies in Singapore may have parallel import as they are cheaper. Cost abt $1.7K compare to the Japan model abt $2.5K

QC should be the same.
