    Arrow Small carabiner for keychains.

I've used those nameless $3 small screwgate carabina for keychains and the problem is that the spring breaks after a few months.

Anyone here can recommend me shops that sells these small screwgate carabina from brands like Petzl, Black diamond and other reputable brands that is not too expensive.

    TIA.

    about $20?

ocun, petzel, black diamond, rock pillar, sportiva are all good brands that sell climbing gear. check out all sports or outdoor specialist at peninsular plaza 2nd and 4th floor.

or you can check out campers corner off the corner of captiol building.

another place u can check out is form factor at the building opposite alexandra hospital.

i used a RMB$2 brandless carabiner which i bought from a china roadside stall for all sorts of stuff (keys, pouches, torches) and it is still working fine after 2 years..

maybe it's the way you handle your stuff?

    germ_boi,

I believe that form factor has closed shop.

I bought my carabina at the Beach Road army market. There is a small "hook" that holds the steel spring, the steel spring will come out after some time of opening and closing it.

I bought a few carabina and it suffered the same fate. I'm just thinking of getting a good branded carabina and not worry about the quality.

Thanks for the heads up guys.

    oops, it's fall factor. haha.

urm, ok try beach road first. those carbs for climbing and mountaineering are the really hardy ones. can withstand up to (alotalot) of kN horizontally and vertically. a good buy in my opinion,

(or if you are friends with rockclimbing club members, we periodically condemn our equipment and we like to use those condemned ones for our own purposes, haha)

My Made in China karabiners are still working fine for years... (Not for climbing type) I used them for kayaking for hanging my waterbottle. No problem at all despite being exposed to seawater.

Screw gate karabiner is also good... No point buying those cute looking ones... They don't really serve much purpose IMHO....
