Default Vacation in Italy – Venice

Venice (Venezia) needs no further introduction, so I'll just go straight with the photos I took there.

Which one is taller?

The twin towers of Venice, with a dome.

The dome and the tower.

The campanile (bell tower) of Basilica di San Marco (St. Mark's Basilica) and Palazzo Ducale on Piazza San Marco.

A closer look at the campanile.

An even closer look at the campanile.

Basilica di San Marco through the arch of a nearby building.

A wonderful church at Campo dei Frari, Chiesa di Santa Maria Gloriosa. It houses some of the most important works by the eminent Venetian artist, Tiziane (Titian).

The spiral staircase at the Palazzo Contarini del Bovolo known as La Scale del Bovolo.

A mobile vegetable outlet on the canal.

Fresh red and juicy pomodoro on sale.

An arched waterway for small boats.

A 'garage' door on the canal.

The prominent Ponte di Rialto with retail outlets on the bridge across Canal Grande.

Another bridge across Canal Grande, Ponte degli Scalzi.

Happy viewing and shooting.

Everytime I look at your travel series, they never failed to impress me Your got very unique style...the color and the framing are very different from the rest

I wonder are you travelling fulltime? It seems like you had been to many places all these while...What are the gears that you brought along?

Hi Big Kahuna, thanks for the compliments. I make sure I give myself one or two travel photography holidays each year. We must work hard and play harder ma!

I went to Italy with my D70s + 18-70mm kit lens + 70-300mm AFD + Tokina 12-24mm. After upgrading my lenses, I went to Beijing with D70s + 17-35mm f/2.8 + 28-70mm f/2.8 + 70-300mm AFD + Tokina 12-24mm + SB800 Speedlight.

I used D70s + 17-35mm f/2.8 most of the time as well. Occassionally I'd switch to the 28-70mm f/2.8. I hardly used the other two lenses.

They all look fine on my monitors at home and office. Probably it's due to your monitor setting. Try tuning up the brightness and see how?
