I am presenting another series of Italy on Florence (Firenze). Hope you like them.
![]() The view of Basilica di San Lorenzo from Piazza San Lorenzo. ![]() The main dome of the lovely Duomo (Cathedral) with facades of white and green marbles. ![]() A bird-eye view of Florence from atop the main dome of the Duomo, it's a hectic climb (more than 400 steps) for me but I was rewarded with this view. The tower on the right belongs to Palazzo Vecchio located at the eminent Piazza della Signoria where a copy of Michelangelo's "David" is. On the centre-left is the tower of Palazzo del Bargello, which is a museum now that houses a lot of famous sculptures by Michelangelo and Donatello.![]() The details of a column and the arches of Mercato Nuovo, a market square since the ancient time which is still in operation today! |

![]() The Ponte Vecchio across River Arno with houses built on the bridge. ![]() The corridor of Galleria degli Uffizi which houses the spectacular treasures: "Birth of Venus" and "Allegory of Spring" by Botticelli, and Leornado Da Vinci's "Annunciation". Priceless paintings by Michelangelo, Raphael and other Florence painters are also exhibited here. No photo-taking is allowed inside this gallery. ![]() Interesting curves of the arches inside Palazzo Vecchio. ![]() One of the palaces around Florence, the Palazzo Strozzi. Thanks for viewing and good day! ![]() |
